Current StatusOn February 29, 2008, OCHAA Closed it's doors and the organization was disolved under Oregon law.
No one single factor contributed to OCHAA's inability to go any further.
It was a series of events internally and externally that ultimately
contributed to the decision to transition students into other services so that they can continue to be served at the very highest levels of quality.
Every decision we have made from the restructuring to the closing has
been for the benefit of the kids. We made every attempt to streamline
our services and consolidate efforts. We elevated the educational
services from GED to diploma and maintained the leadership programs
(OLI).
In the end, there were more barriers than we were able to overcome. Special recognition should be given to Patricia Martinez for her amazing leadership during a very difficult time. Also to Shawn and the rest of the staff at OCHAA for always keeping the kids first in all that they did.
Over the next weeks and months, there will be special events and sales to help elimanate some outstanding dept and celebrate the sucesses of OCHAA over the last three decades.
